KIAN Tydeman’s double was enough for Cherries’ development squad to come from behind and defeat Charlton Athletic away from home.

After trailing at the break to Keenan Gough’s first-half strike, Tydeman’s brace inside 12 second-half minutes were enough for Cherries to win 2-1 in the Professional Development League.

Cherries enjoyed early opportunities at Sparrows Lane.

Ash Clarke slipped through the Charlton defence but spun his effort wide, before Toure Williams blasted over in a separate chance.

However, it would be the hosts that would open scores.

The Addicks won the ball in Cherries’ half through Ryan Huke, quickly turning the ball to captain Gough.

Gough made no mistake as he turned past Callan McKenna in the Cherries goal to put his side ahead on 23 minutes.

Huke almost set up a second for the home side, meeting Ibrahim Fullah’s cross but from an offside position.

Lewis Brown’s drilled shot, blocked for a corner, was the best Cherries could muster in the closing stages of the first period.

Brown would be involved in Cherries’ equaliser shortly after the break.

He found overlapping full-back Finn Tonks, allowing the defender to cross for Tydeman, who was arriving at the back post.

Tydeman made no mistake, levelling scores.

And he would put Cherries ahead shortly after.

Balraj Landa saw an effort saved by Prince Adegoke, but Charlton were powerless to prevent Tydeman turning home the rebound to put Cherries ahead for the first time.

From there, Cherries saw out the game in relatively comfortable fashion.

Victory is their 13th of the Professional Development League season, lifting them above Queens Park Rangers and into second place.
