POOLE Town boss Steve Tully confirmed that goalkeeper Lloyd Thomas had left the club after discovering he would not be starting Dolphins’ last game against Merthyr Town.
After switching venues to Dorchester Town’s Avenue Stadium to avoid a further postponement, Poole went on to lose 3-1 to play-off chasing Merthyr.
Dolphins only named four substitutes, with Thomas no longer at the club.
Tully told Poole’s social media: “Lloyd’s obviously decided to leave us, because he wasn’t involved today. Because I decided to go with Max (Evans), he has decided to leave the football club.
“That happens, non-contract, that’s football. But I can’t fault the players that were here (against Dorchester).”
In total, Thomas made 14 appearances for Poole this term in the absence of first-choice Evans due to injury.
Poole have also moved Tuesday night’s game against Winchester City to the Avenue, with kick-off at 8pm.
