Poole Town draw 2-2 with Plymouth Parkway

Alefe Santos had given Dolphins the lead early on in the second half but Parkway quickly responded through a Shane White penalty.

Billy Lowes’ long-range strike was worthy of winning any game, and it looked like it had as the match reached additional time.

However, there would be another equaliser for the away side, substitute Jack Crago popping up to ensure spoils were shared.

After recording their first back-to-back victories since December with a 3-0 win over Beaconsfield last time out Dolphins had hoped to make it three in a row with a win over fellow relegation strugglers Plymouth Parkway.

They had the perfect chance to do so when Wes Fogden was felled inside the area early on, a penalty awarded for a third successive game.

Having converted the previous two, talisman Toby Holmes stepped up, only to see Parkway keeper Adam Parkes guess the right way to save.

There was another blow for Poole shortly after, Tyler Forbes forced off with a hamstring injury.

10 minutes into the second period, Dolphins would find the opener. Holmes flicked on a Fogden cross to find the awaiting Santos, who tapped home to begin the scoring.

Poole’s lead would last just seven minutes, as Parkway made no mistake from the spot.

The hosts went in search of another goal, which came in spectacular fashion.

Finding himself with space and time outside the box, midfielder Lowes unleashed a screamer into the top left corner to give Poole another lead.

However, again it would not last. Crago’s effort flew through a crowded box and into the back of the net to split the points between the two teams.

Poole remain 13th, six points clear of Tiverton in the final relegation spot of 19th               after having played a game more.
