HAMWORTHY Recreation completed a double as they lifted the Dorset Senior Cup with a 3-1 win over Shaftesbury.
Hosted at Shaftesbury’s Cockrams ground, first-half goals from Tyler Rudd and Eddie Hodge set Rec on their way.
Rudd made it a double in the second period, before former Cherry Brett Pitman pulled one back for the hosts.
Success in the county cup competition follows glory in the league, with Recreation lifting the Wessex League Division One title.
It is just the second time Rec have lifted the Dorset Senior Cup, having last done so in 1995 when they defeated then Southern League Poole Town 4-1 in the final.
Next season Rec will ply their trade in the ninth tier of English football for the first time, after securing promotion to the Wessex Premier.
