DATES have been confirmed for the annual Lymington Yacht Club youth week.
The four-day event will start on Monday, August 19, and run through to Thursday, August 22, 2024.
It will be supported by Walhampton School, with four fleets involved in gold, silver, bronze and scows.
This year’s event sees an enhancement to the coaching programme for young sailors in the bronze fleet, to hone their skills on the water.
Thursday will be an ‘Olympic-themed day’, with tribute paid to Team GB sailors Hannah Snellgrove and Vita Heathcote, formerly of Lymington youth weeks.
Walhampton School headmaster Johnny Timms said: “We are delighted to join forces with the Royal Lymington Yacht Club in support of Youth Week 2024.
“It's inspiring to see the impact that sailing can have on young lives, and we are proud to play a part in making this event a truly inclusive and enriching experience for all."
Royal Lymington Yacht Club say it “extends its gratitude to Walhampton School for their invaluable support and looks forward to a successful collaboration that will benefit the entire community”.
Online registration for the event opens on May 27.
