CHERRIES’ development squad saw a half-time lead disappear as they fell to a 6-2 loss away at Brentford.
Facing the west London club’s B team in a memorial match for former Bees technical director Robert Rowan, Cherries led 2-1 through a Daniel Adu-Adjei brace.
But the hosts rallied, taking the lead with 15 minutes to go before a flurry of late goals saw them run out with a big winning margin.
Daniel Oyegoke put Brentford ahead, before Adu-Adjei equalised just past the half-hour mark, converting a Finn Tonks cross.
Kian Tydeman then teed up Adu-Adjei for his second of the night, putting Cherries ahead.
Mukhammadali Urinboev made it 2-2 midway through the second half, before goalkeeper Noah Crisp did well to deny Romeo Beckham, son of David.
But Ryan Trevitt did score soon after to turn the game on its head.
Trevitt got his second goal just before the game headed into stoppage time, when Brentford scored twice more.
The first came from the penalty spot via Max Dickov, before Ethan Laidlaw rounded off the win.
Cherries end their season on Tuesday night, against Crewe Alexandra in the Professional Development League at Vitality Stadium (7.30pm).
Cherries: Crisp, Tonks (Trialist, 62), Kinsey, Harris, Greenwood, Brown, Williams, Landa (Wadham, 62), Tydeman (Stuttle, 52), Dacosta Gonzalez (Rees-Dottin, 62), Adu-Adjei.
