WORLD champion Chris Billam-Smith extended his soft spot for AFC Bournemouth into the world of boxing.
Billam-Smith is set to defend his WBO cruiserweight crown against Richard Riakporhe at Crystal Palace’s Selhurst Park on Saturday.
In the build-up to the fight, the avid Cherries fan was asked to create his ‘ultimate fighter’, in a series of quick-fire questions from BBC Sport.
While in eight of the nine categories, Billam-Smith stuck to the script and selected a variety of world-class boxers, when asked whose ‘engine’ he would choose, he opted for Cherries midfielder Ryan Christie.
The Scot, set to compete at Euro 2024 this week, enjoyed a superb season on the south coast with his tireless performances.
Billam-Smith’s ultimate fighter also included the jab of George Groves, IQ of Floyd Mayweather, power of David Haye and the chin of the Gentleman himself.
