BOURNEMOUTH RFC will have a large contingent of players competing at Twickenham this weekend, with Dorset & Wilts men’s under-20s.
The national final of the Jason Leonard County Championship takes place at the home of English rugby.
Ian Moore’s youngsters are set to face East Midlands, led by Bournemouth duo Connor Moore and Stan Vincent, who are among 11 players from the club involved.
Dorset & Wilts also includes players from Wimborne and Swanage & Wareham.
The team, including the coaches, have been together for nearly two years, narrowly missing out on reaching the final in 2023.
The squad is put together from more than 10 clubs, allowing 50 players to come together under one badge.
Dorset & Wilts booked their spot in the final with a 26-25 win over Hampshire in the semis at Gillingham, having previously overcome Oxfordshire and Devon.
Today’s game kicks off at 1pm, in one of four matches to be played on county finals day. Action begins at 11am, with the Bill Beaumont Division Two final, with the Division One and Gill Burns Division One finals to follow.
The men’s senior team narrowly missed out on a Twickenham final, beaten 32-31 by North Midlands in the semis earlier this month.
