DORSET star Lucy Shuker is part of the squad called up by Paralympics GB for this summer’s wheelchair tennis tournament.
Veteran Shuker, of Three Legged Cross in Verwood, will head to Paris for the event at Roland Garros between August 30 and September 7, alongside fellow experienced Paralympian Andy Lapthorne.
Also called up are newly-crowned Wimbledon men’s singles champion Alfie Hewett, his doubles partner Gordon Reid, as well as Ben Bartram and Dahnon Ward.
Shuker, 44, is set her fifth Paralympic Games, having previously won three women’s doubles medals before.
Alongside Jordanne Whiley, who has now retired, Shuker won silver at Tokyo four years ago.

“It’s an incredible achievement to have qualified directly for my fifth Paralympic Games and an absolute honour to put on a Paralympics GB tracksuit and represent my country,” said Shuker.
“I love the excitement that begins with the Olympics and then to see the Paralympics unfold showcasing what athletes with all sorts of disabilities can achieve. It’s a time that unites the world and I can’t wait to be a part of it.
“This will be the first Games since London that is taking place so close to home and I can’t wait to have the support of family and friends who will experience the Paralympics for themselves.”
