POOLE Comets cycle speedway club won silver at the prestigious British Club Championship in Hull.
Having made the long trip north for the two-day event, Poole got off to a good start with Jamie Randall and Teddy Curtis going unbeaten to gain maximum points in the under-14 boys event.
The team’s score was increased when Natalie Goulden and Millie Shear took second place in the U16 girls competition.
Randall and Curtis then took part in the U16 boys event and while they were unable to repeat their results from earlier in the competition, they produced a creditable performance.
That proved enough for an all-important third-place, which put Comets second overall.
In the open team event, Poole won their semi-final, before placing fourth in the final, with Wil Bristowe leading the scores.
