A BOURNEMOUTH wakeboarder is set to take on the best in Europe next week.
Nineteen-year-old Olli Loder is part of Great Britain’s open men squad that is heading to the European championships in Toutainville, Normandy.
Loder is alongside Ellingham’s Jody Elliot, 24, in the squad of five that will travel to the IWWF (International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation) 2024 Europe & Africa Wakeboard Boat Championships.
The championships will take place between Wednesday, August 28 and Saturday, August 31.
GB will be taking a large contingent to France, with riders aged between 12 and 58, across nine squads.
Boat wakeboarding is like a combination of snowboarding, skateboarding and surfing.
It sees riders perform tricks over two runs while being towed by a boat, from which judges watch and determine the scores, based on a range of criteria.
