ANDONI Iraola said it is important his side parks their frustrations after the Newcastle game as they head into a busy week of fixtures.

Iraola’s side face West Ham in the Carabao Cup in London on Wednesday night, before travelling to Everton on Saturday.

Speaking after the Newcastle game, Iraola told the Daily Echo: “It was very important for us after our performance.

“We have a very, very, very difficult week because we've been very unlucky with the draw of the Carabao Cup, with the timings of every game they put us on TV because we will have one day less against West Ham.

“We will play away with a travel day.

“We are playing in two days after, we have another travel day against Everton where they will have also one day more of rest and we will have two away travels.

“And we know what this means energy wise, for the way we want to play.

“So we have to be ready to recover very well because it is a very difficult, difficult week for us.

“Probably [West Ham] were the strongest team we could play. Maybe it was Brighton also in the south.

“We have to prepare well because there are important games for us.”

The Cherries boss dropped Dean Huijsen to the bench after his impressive debut against Nottingham Forest, with Marcos Senesi returning from illness.

When asked about the importance of having such squad depth, particularly in busy weeks like the coming one, Iraola said: “It's very important for me in all the season, especially this week, I think we will need more than eleven definitely to play these three games.

“I've had very, very difficult decisions for this game.

“It’s very, completely unfair to leave in the bench someone like Dean that has played an amazing game the other day.

“But it's what I thought we needed for today's game.

And I've gone with this decision. I don't know if rightly, wrongly, we will never know.

But I think everyone has to get used to, sometimes you start, sometimes you play five minutes, sometimes you don't play.

“We will need every single minute from every player to make us better, because I think the way we play, the players that come from the bench are very important for us.”
