POOLE Pirates’ home leg of their upcoming Championship Play Off semi final has been confirmed.
Pirates will face either Workington or Glasgow on Wednesday, September 11, after they secured top spot in the league with a win over Edinburgh.
They will race against the fourth placed side for a spot in the Grand Final, with Workington currently sat in fourth.
If they beat Plymouth at Northside this coming Saturday they will secure their spot in the playoffs and a matchup against Poole, should Glasgow fail to beat Edinburgh on Friday.
If the Scottish side beat their compatriots then, unless Workington lose, they will need to beat Oxford by more than 20 points when they meet on Sunday.
Poole promoter Danny Ford has confirmed that tickets are on sale for the Wednesday meeting.
He said: “We have the agreement of the managements of both Workington and Glasgow for them to come to us on the 11th.
“Whichever side it turns out to be it will be a tough fixture for us without a doubt and, as in previous seasons, we are hoping to get plenty of support to help our lads get the done.
“I can assure everyone that the boys are really up for going all the way this year in all three competitions.
“We already have secured our place in the BSN final and could do likewise with the KO Cup on Friday when we go to Scunthorpe, so it is important that we get ourselves off to a good start in the league play-offs and if we can build a decent first leg, with the encouragement of our supporters it would position us strongly.”
Tickets can be bought through the club’s website. This meeting is not included in season ticket packages.
