THE Dolphins faced Swindon Supermarine for the third time in a week but were on the losing side this time as the hosts took all three points.

Steve Tully made one change to his Poole Town side with Toby Holmes coming in for Tom Hewlett who was unavailable through suspension.

The match got underway with both sides testing each other out in the early stages.

Supermarine broke the deadlock after ten minutes through Sims-Burgess who capitalised on a Josh Staunton mistake at the back and delicately slotted it past Cam Plain.

Just before the half time whistle, Jake McCarthy was fouled in the area and the referee pointed to the spot.

Number nine Toby Holmes stepped up, but he was denied from 12 yards out after his penalty was saved by Luke Purnell to ensure Marine went into the break with the lead.

The hosts doubled their lead on the hour mark as Sims-Burgess converted from close range to give Marine a two-goal lead.

Swindon Supermarine made it three with 20 minutes to go after a beautiful free kick flew into the top right corner from Michael Fernandes leaving Plain helpless in the Poole goal.

Things went from bad to worse for the Dolphins as the hosts scored their fourth after a great corner met the head of Harry Williams at the back post who headed it home.

Supermarine made it five with ten minutes to go after a mix up between Plain and Whisken allowed Williams to tap the ball into an empty net.

A heavy defeat for Steve Tully’s side but a thoroughly deserved three points for Supermarine who controlled the game from start to finish and were clinical going forward.

Poole return to FA Cup action next Saturday as they face Taunton Town at home in the Second Round Qualifying.
