COBHAM Sports ran out 4-0 winners over Bridport Res at a rain-soaked Merley Park.

The visitors started the better of the two sides, adapting to the conditions quicker than the hosts, with Harry Boulton going close after 11 minutes.

But it was the home side that took the lead after 21 minutes, with Tadgh Case causing problems for the Bridport back line and winning a penalty and Josh Buck made no mistake from the spot.

Bridport brought the best out of Jacob Deakin from the kick off, but Cobham began to control the game, heading into the break with a one goal lead.

They flew out of the blocks in the second period, increasing their lead in the 48th minute.

A poor clearance from Kershaw was controlled by Chris Manners 25 yards out, and he clipped the ball over the keeper who was off his line and into the back of the net.

Cobham were now firmly in the driving seat with Buck causing problems for the Bees, with his cross bundled out for a corner at the far post in the 56th minute.

Three minutes later the hosts had their third, as a Callum Perry free kick was saved by Kershaw into the feet of Buck who made no mistake with the rebound.

Bridport applied a little pressure after Cobham went to their bench, but Deakin, Mike Trim and Toby Ord kept them firmly at bay.

But it was all Cobham in the final 20 minutes of the match and they capped off a fine afternoon with their fourth goal in stoppage time.

Buck had his effort parried but Dan Brown was on hand to clinically finish the rebound, with the final whistle coming not long after as Cobham secured a convincing 4-0 win.
