WIMBORNE Town were knocked out of the FA Cup after two goals in three minutes saw Weston-Super-Mare progress.
The National League South side cruised past their hosts with both goals coming in the opening 15 minutes.
Tim Sills made two changes to his Wimborne side from that which started against Totton, giving Harry Bakers and Harry Morgan their first starts of the season.
The visitors started with confidence after a strong start to their season, hitting the bar on nine minutes.
They opened the scoring on 12 minutes, as Charlie Philpot in the Wimborne net making a brilliant save but seeing the ball spin behind him after the bounce, with the linesman ruling it had crossed the line.
Weston’s second goal saw McCootie muscle his way past two defenders to reach a long through ball before the on-rushing keeper and finishing into an open goal.
The visitors were in complete control after the two goals, deflating the home supporters, and were able to turn defence into attack as they repelled any Wimborne attempts.
Weston’s Coulson saw his shot blocked, Kadji’s 25-yard shot was saved by Philpot, as Wimborne were unable to create an attempt on goal in the first half.
The Magpies had more of the chances in the second half but couldn’t find the breakthrough.
They almost pulled one back in the first minute of the half as Harvey Wright was played in but keeper Harris took the sting off his shot and the ball was cleared.
Wimborne repelled Weston attacks well as they were unable to extend their lead, but the visitors were well-organised and difficult to break down, running out deserved winners.
It was something of a flat performance from Wimborne, being knocked out by a National South team at home for the second season running.
