COBHAM Sports banished the disappointment of their midweek cup defeat by thrashing Balti Sports 10-0.
The side headed to Weymouth and were wondering why they were not further ahead at halftime when leading 2-0.
But the best efforts of Balti keeper Harrison Wood couldn’t prevent a second half eight-goal onslaught.
Tadgh Case scored four, Josh Buck had a hattrick and Dan Brown, Ellis George and 16-year-old Josh Toop rounded out the rout.
Cobham hit the front after 25 minutes, following a couple of good Wood saves, with Brown scoring after a Buck shot was saved.
Buck was on the scoresheet three minutes later and were kept out for the rest of the half.
Balti started the second half well but had their momentum taken 10 minutes into the period, with Buck finishing from Brown’s pass.
The floodgates then opened, as Case scored on 60 minutes and 61 minutes to make it 5-0.
Toop cam on and hit the bar after 65 minutes as Cobham piled on the pressure.
Buck netted his hattrick in the 77th minute, with Case doing the same four minutes later as the score became 7-0.
Wood was still making saves but George scored in the 83rd minute, before Toop’s first senior goal for the club on 85 minutes, before Case completed the afternoon with his fourth and Cobham’s tenth.
