SWANAGE Cricket Club hosted their end of season annual presentation evening to cap off a successful season.
The first XI finished fourth in the Dorset Premier Division’s second tier and reached the quarterfinals of the T20 trophy.
Mike Salmon was awarded Batsman of the Year, while James Harding and Ben Hodder were given Bowler and Fielder of the Year respectively.
The second side also finished fourth, winning 10 of their 15 games, with John Lewis given the Batsman award as Matt Beard scooped both the Bowler and Fielder awards.
With a 50 per cent win rate, the third XI finished sixth in Division Five.
Michael Barry was awarded Batsman of the Year, Jernimain Barry the Bowler of the Year and Josh Gould the Fielder of the Year.
In the fourth side it was Jon Maidman who was given Bat of the Year, while Arun Orgee and Luke Marks were awarded Bowler and Fielder of the Year respectively in the side’s debut season.
The women’s section also saw success in the Super 8’s league, with Safia Nadaf, Faye Stacey and Niamh Mckeown given the Batter, Bowler and Fielder awards.
In the women’s second XI, it was Kirsty Wilcox, Nala Lee and Gemma Lee who scooped the awards.
Jernimain Barry and Niamh McKeown took home the Most Improved Player awards for the male and female sections.
The evening was hosted by Tim Ives and Craig Wells, who thanked the committee members and volunteers for their hard work, as well as Nigel Dawe, Tatty King and Chris Wood for their help with scoring and umpiring.
Beryl and Sharon were also praised for their fantastic teas – which the club say are among the nicest in the county.
