THERE is plenty of non-league football on offer this weekend and with Cherries making the trip to Leicester, why not head down to your local football team and show your support.

Poole Town host Gosport Borough in the FA Trophy this Saturday at The BlackGold Stadium.

This is the fourth consecutive home game for Steve Tully’s side as they come off the back of a convincing 3-1 win against Plymouth Parkway.

The only player unavailable for the Dolphins is Charlie Davis who is still recovering from a long-term knee injury.

Gosport will be going into the game with confidence sky-high following the FA Cup triumph against National League North outfit Oxford City.

Poole are unbeaten in the last five occasions against Gosport, including last season’s 2-0 win on a day where Toby Holmes and Tony Lee were on the scoresheet.

Wimborne Town are also in FA Trophy action this weekend as they make the trip to Meadow Park to face high-flying Gloucester City.

The Magpies will be looking to get back on track following their heavy 6-0 defeat in South Wales to Merthyr Town.

This is the second time this season that Wimborne travel to Gloucester with the Tigers securing the three points in a 1-0 win back in August.

Looking at team news, Wimborne will be without winger Matty Burrows following his straight red card against Merthyr.

Top-scorer Cameron Munn will be looking to add to his tally after already scoring five goals this campaign.

Following the defeat to Merthyr, manager Tim Sills’ said: “Today is the first day we need to have a good look at ourselves.”

Elsewhere on Saturday, Hamworthy United travel to The Arrow Arena to face Folland Sports with a 3pm kick off.

Despite a good start to the season, The Hammers are winless in five matches and are starting to drop down the table.

Hamworthy United currently sit in 10th position, whereas their opponents Folland Sports are in the relegation zone emphasising the need of three points for Dan Cann’s side.

Key midfielder Louis Braggington is still expected to be out for a while, but Brin Doyle should be back fit within the next few weeks.

Following defeat to Alresford Town last weekend, assistant manager Keith Watling said: “We keep making silly mistakes and then straight away we’re putting ourselves under the cosh.”

In the Dorset Premier League this weekend, Bournemouth Sports host Portland United Reserves at Chapel Gate.

Poole Borough are at home to Holt United, while Cobham Sports host Sherbourne Town Reserves.

There is a big encounter at the bottom of the table between Hamworthy Rec Reserves and Wimborne Town Reserves at Magna Road with a 3pm kick off.
