MARCUS Tavernier said Cherries club-record signing Evanilson has been great for the club as he continues to adapt to the Premier League.
Cherries signed Evanilson in a deal that could be worth up to £40.2million, after the departure of Dominic Solanke to Tottenham Hotspur for up to £65m.
The summer signing got off the mark for his new club the Monday previous, netting at the Vitality Stadium as Bournemouth beat south coast neighbours Southampton 3-1.
The 25-year-old finished well after some quick thinking from the striker and Tavernier to take a quick free kick.
While the Brazilian has scored just once for Cherries, boss Andoni Iraola has been impressed with his all-round play and what he has contributed to the side.
Asked after the Leicester game if the Cherries side was still adapting to losing Solanke and if they had to change the way they were playing, Tavernier said: “No, it's still the same way.
“Evanilson just came in, he's been great.
“He got his first goal last week and he's starting to find his feet in the league because obviously everyone knows it's the toughest league in the world.
“It's a different pace, but you can see that he's settling in and he's been a real help for the team.”
The Englishman felt Evanilson had been unlucky in seeing his goal disallowed against the Foxes.
“On another day that might count for us, but he was unfortunate,” he said.
“I'm sure he's gutted he couldn't get on the score sheet today, but he'll be desperate to get back out there and put the ball in the back of the net.”
