SWANAGE Town and Herston FC extended their unbeaten run with a dramatic 2-2 draw at home with Bournemouth Sports.
The Swans fought back from a two-goal deficit to unbeaten Sports, and it was the hosts who dominated the early exchanges.
Four minutes in, Ocean Smith had a chance from 20 yards, before Marcus Smith saw his effort saved two minutes later.
But Swanage were forced into a reshuffle after 18 minutes after Sam Clarke suffered an injury, with Charlier Dyke dropping into defence and Charlie Pitt into midfield.
The Swans lost some momentum without the influential Clarke but had a couple of chances through Cody Moore in the 22nd and 24th minutes.
However, it was the visitors who broke the deadlock after 31 minutes, with Matt Ellis finishing easily after a mix up in the Swans’ defence following a ball over the top.
The hosts nearly equalised immediately through Ogun Gundogdu, but his effort was blocked by keeper Knibbs.
Sports began to look dangerous and Ellis completed his brace shortly before the break as another defensive error left him free to slot home.
The visitors led 2-0 at half time but Swanage came out of the blocks quickly in the second period, levelling the game just a minute into the half.
Ocean Smith finished neatly after Paul Best flicked on a throw in, as the Swans were revitalised and pressed for the equaliser.
Sports went close after a 25-yard free kick was well saved by Brad Smith, but it was Swans who equalised in the 70th minute, after Cohen Lee went close three minutes previous.
It was Cody Moore who slotted home from a crowded box, after the ball fell to him from a Gundogdu header.
Both sides pushed for a winner, as Ocean Smith went close in the 72nd minute, before Moore troubled the Sports defence with a dangerous cross that wasn’t met a minute later.
Sports had a chance to retake the lead after 82 minutes, a header going inches wide, before Stephen Pryor made a vital goal-saving intervention for Swanage to keep them level with four minutes left.
The game remained level and the points were shared, as Swanage’s unbeaten run extended to six games.
