POOLE Town got back to winning ways following a last grasp winner from Jamie Whisken in a 3-2 win over Frome Town.
Manager Steve Tully made four changes to his starting eleven with Tyler Forbes returning following international duty with British Virgin Islands.
The game started with high intensity but both sides struggling to create any real goal threat early on.
The Dolphins did open the scoring on the 12th minute after a mistake at the back which Josh Staunton capitalised on and fired home from close.
Cam Plain made a good stop on the 29th minute to deny the Frome forward.
Toby Holmes went close to doubling Poole’s lead but was denied by a great stop.
Moments before the half time break, Frome equalised the game as Matt Wood found space in the area and placed the ball into the corner.
The half came to a close with the scores level at one apiece.
The end-to-end action continued into the second half but neither side able to take the lead.
Poole regained the lead on the 75th minute after a deflected free kick crashed of the ball falling to the head of Toby Holmes who headed it into an empty net.
The hosts fought back again as Frome equalised late on through Matt Wood once again.
The game looked as if it was going to end level after continuous end-to-end action late on.
One last chance for Poole on the 94th minute as Antonio Diaz stepped up to take a corner.
A fantastic ball in found the head of Jamie Whisken who headed home ensuring Poole came away with all three points.
A thoroughly entertaining game at Badgers Hill which could have gone either way but Whiksen’s late winner takes Poole up to 6th place.
