HAMWORTHY United came from three goals down against Amesbury Town to extend their winning streak to five.
Their visitors were in mid-table ahead of their trip to the Hammers having been promoted to the Velocity Wessex League Division One at the start of the season.
But the hosts made a disastrous start, with Amesbury scoring twice inside the opening 15 minutes.
An early corner was floated to the back post, with Morgan Harvey finding the net with his header back across goal.
Robbie Owen darted in behind the Hamworthy defence and lobbed Jeremy James in the Hamworthy net to double the lead.
The visitors had three as the Hammers’ misery was compounded when Ben Morris cut inside and shot, his effort striking the underside of the bar and hitting James in the back and going in.
Dan Cann made two early changes after the poor start, with Micky Hubbard and Ben March coming on.
Hamworthy got two back before the break, as Josh Malpas found Bailey Rowe with a driven ball across goal for Rowe to finish.
Jack Hughes added the Hamworthy second before the break with a fantastic strike finding the bottom corner.
The equaliser was found early in the second period through Rowe, dancing into the box and firing low into the bottom corner.
Hamworthy got the winner through an own goal from Lewis Alderman, with Malpas the architect.
He fired a low ball across goal from the right wing, only for the retreating defender to turn the ball into his own net.
Rowe was denied a hattrick by a controversial offside decision, before Brandon Williams found the back of the net in the 90th minute, only to be denied again by the assistant’s flag.
Hamworthy managed the end of the game professionally despite a tense finish to claim all three points.
They remain fifth in the league as their unbeaten run extends to five matches.
