COBHAM Sports secured a comprehensive 5-2 victory at old adversaries Holt United.

The visitors made a lightning start to the game, with efforts from Josh Buck and Dan Kelly kept out, the latter’s striking the post.

But they opened the scoring in the 21st minute, Tadgh Case put in on the right by Buck, with his cross poked home by Kelly.

But Holt equalised two minutes later, with George Lane climbing highest at the far post to score from a James King corner.

Dan Brown went close to giving Cobham the lead once again in the 27th and 39th minutes, but the scores remained level at 1-1 at the break.

The visitors started the second half strongly and took the lead in the 59th minute through an Ellis George flicked header into the far corner.

The lead was increased in the 70th minute after some wonderful build up play by Cobham, finished off by a Brown first time effort low into the far corner.

Holt narrowed the deficit through River Smith at a set piece in the 74th minute, but Cobham scored their fourth eleven minutes later as Kingsley Eze-Sunday was played in and finished from 15 yards.

Two minutes later, substitute Seb Stout forced Holt into giving the ball away to Chris Manners who stroked the ball home from 25 yards out to make it 5-2, and Cobham saw the game out for the three points.
