MILOS Kerkez said everyone in the Cherries squad ‘loves’ Evanilson and he was thrilled to see him score their late equaliser against Aston Villa to earn Bournemouth a point.

The left back played 81 minutes of the 90 at Villa Park, in which the Cherries drew 1-1 thanks to a stoppage time equaliser from the striker.

On the Brazilian, Kerkez said: “Everyone loves him. He's a really good guy to have in the locker room.

“I think he's settling in pretty good since he came, so I'm really happy he made that goal.

“We all know he's a striker, they need goals, so I hope he can continue that during the next few weeks.”

Kerkez said he felt the result was deserved, especially after he felt his side should have had penalties for a foul on Antoine Semenyo and for a Leon Bailey hand ball.

“It's a tough stadium, tough supporters and they're really good side.

“So, we came, of course, with the confidence from the last game [the 2-0 win over Arsenal] and it's not bad to get the tie.”

Mark Travers was on fantastic form in the Cherries net, with Kerkez saying he was ‘proud’ of the Irishman’s performance.

“Mark, everyone knows he really works really hard every training and he's really there helping everyone, motivating even when he doesn't play,” Kerkez said.

“So I think everyone, especially me, I'm really happy for him today and he really saved us a lot today.”

On their set up for the game, the Hungarian international said: “Of course it was a little bit tough today because they're good players and they can come out of pressure.

“I think a lot of times we did it well, sometimes we didn't, but it's how we want to play against everyone.”

Looking ahead to welcoming table-toppers Manchester City to Dean Court next weekend, and potentially completing a hattrick of results against Champions League teams, Kerkez said he and the squad know it is going to be tough.

“Always at home when we are playing, we really get that ultra boost when we play at home,” he said. “So, of course it's going to be tough in Manchester City, but it will be nice to make the hat trick like you said.”

He said the team must stay grounded as they prepare for the visit of City after two excellent results.

Kerkez said: “We have to prepare the plan and I hope next Saturday everyone's ready, like today, 100 per cent, and that we can make a good result at home.”
