LAST weekend, new AFC Bournemouth striker Evanilson dropped to the bench for the first time in the Premier League since joining in the summer.

The Brazilian was replaced by Enes Unal in the starting eleven at Aston Villa, but he came off the bench after 64 minutes.

He scored a dramatic late equaliser with what was almost the last kick of the game at Villa Park.

Unal, meanwhile, was making his first start in a Cherries shirt this season, since returning from injury after a surgery over the summer.

Asked about the thought process behind the choice to bring Unal in, Andoni Iraola said: “I've said it a lot of times, I don't only think about the eleven that start the game.

“I think normally there are more goals scored in the second half than in first half.

“So, it's very important what we are going to do after 50, 60 minutes.

“We take decisions in different positions with different reasons, how we see them training, how they fit with the matchup with the opposition, the duels they will have, what we will need in certain positions.

“It's good to have available a lot of players because it gives us these chances to think, okay, we're going to start with him and then we will have for the second half this, this and this, so we can attack differently.”

Bournemouth have a couple of attacking injury doubts for today’s clash with Manchester City, with Luis Sinisterra and Dango Ouattara likely to miss out.

With this, Iraola said they will need to adapt offensively – but both Unal and Evanilson are set to be available for the game against City at Dean Court.
